My hearty congratulations to Chelle Bliss for crafting a strong female character who is at home in the world of space and aeronautics. What a refreshing feeling it is to read a more technical side to a woman’s career as opposed to she was an executive. The amount of detail dedicated to the business at hand is well played.

Bliss also deserves credit for creating a male character with true integrity. Antonio is alpha for real with a very strong sense for gaining agreement from Lauren.

The chemistry between Lauren and Antonio is blistering. This book is a one-sitting read. You will not be able to put it down.

The book is engaging, sexy, all around interesting with an explosive cliff hanger. Be on the look out for book 2, Merger, November 28.

Fresh off a divorce from a Hollywood hotshot, Madison Atwood needs an escape. With the paparazzi fresh on her heels and her love life splashed on every tabloid, she runs away to a swanky retreat in Northern California. Avalon Springs is the mountainside haven she needs to find herself again.

Luke Dawson lives off the grid, preferring solitude to society. When he finds a beautiful woman soaking in the hot springs on his property, he can’t stop himself from watching her. She captures his attention, but she’s just a city girl—a beautiful distraction disturbing the peace he’s settled here to find.

When Madison discovers Luke’s secluded cabin, he can’t turn her away again. They make no promises. Madison needs to feel wanted again, and Luke misses the touch of a woman. But when mother nature has other plans, they’re forced to spend more than a night of passion together. Can Luke say goodbye to the only woman who’s made him feel anything in years, and can Madison leave behind the man who brought her back to life?

Oh my Lawd– this book is H.O.T! Let me just start off by thanking both Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss for creating this book. I’m going to hazard a guess and say if I went galavanting up a mountain, I would probably find someone totally different than Luke, lol.

I was hardly 35 pages into the book and I lost count of the blushes across my cheeks, or the number of times I clutched my chest. Woosa, I made a cocktail.

Misadventures of a City Girl is the perfect book to share with a cheese tray and bottle of wine on a lazy afternoon. You can totally finish this book in one sitting– I dare you to try putting it down, in fact. This is a quick, easy, entertaining read– just the way I like my romance. There are some intense moments that made me hold my breath.

I found myself trying to determine which author came up with the dialogue throughout the beginning of the story, but let that go fairly early on. These women write so effortlessly together that you simply can’t tell, and both Luke and Madison demanded my full attention.

Chelle Bliss is a new-to-me author, and I am ready to devour her entire catalog of books. 1-Click, here I come! Meredith Wild is one of my favorite authors– I own all of her books and I will follow her down any path she chooses to go. I recommend Misadventures of a City Girl to everyone who likes romance or erotica.

Hate to Love You by Tijan
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: August 28th

Rule #1: No hot guys.

It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.

No one would know me at college.

Rule #2: No drama.

I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.

Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.

And all because of Shay Coleman.

Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . .

. . . and he was about to break all my rules.

#6:  Trusting Sydney

When Helen Hardt creates a series, I imagine she researches every element  of the world she is creating.  She is one of just a few authors who has been able to successfully write about different eras convincingly.

The Temptation Saga is a modern day cowboy romance. Reading this series of books, I was transported to Bakersville, Colorado– a guest at the table, so to speak. I adore getting lost in the McCray’s world.

Trusting Sydney has the makings of a great soap opera.  We have the McCray family– central to most of the series, definitely involved in every book.  We have broken hearts, secrets and lies, and an arrogant villain.

Sydney Buchanan and Sam O’Donovan have their work cut out for them.  They must traverse a dangerous road full of twists and turns.  There is much to learn, much to forgive, and it was a great pleasure following this journey.

#7:  Tantalizing Maria

Helen Hardt has saved the best for last!  The story between Maria and Jeff Bay is my favorite.  These characters have been reunited after decades and their chemistry is still there, ready to combust!

These two characters have some critical issues to work througb– one lie created quite a bit of havoc for not just them, but everyone close to them.

Helen Hardt planted a seed for this book way back in the third book of the series, Taking Catie.  If I could ask her one question, I would ask did she know going in about Maria’s story or did it come to her while writing Catie’s story?

So going into the book about 30% in I figured out the premise of the story and how it was going to play out. I was 60% correct. As a reader you know what the characters don’t and I was about to put the book down but I tugged along and I am glad I did because it actually was a pretty great read. The premise of the book is the main heroine Shae goes back to her home town but she has lost memories of a traumatic event when she was younger. She meets tall dark and handsome Rex who has his own secrets and boom they have chemistry. The interaction between the two was pretty hot and sweet. I liked the way Shae was written, she was pretty bad ass and Rex wasn’t your typical jerk, he was super sweet and kind of made me fall in fiction love with him.  I kind of wish there was a little more angst and maybe more drama. It all unfollowed so neatly and wasn’t as messy as I would have liked.

Overall the story was pretty good. The storyline was creative and the relationship between the main characters deepened as plot progressed. I would have loved more interaction with Shae and Dante (Rex’s brother) and I am assuming he gets his own book soon! He is another fiction crush. If you have read K.L Grayson before you will like where she went this one. The writing is pretty spot on and flows well throughout.

Everyone has one.
Some are close.
Some are dysfunctional.
Some are simply gone.
Nine-year-old Shae Black entered the Witness Protection Program after the murder of her father, mob boss Luca DiMarco. New name. New identity. And a ready-made family that had no idea who she really was.
Fourteen years later, a letter from a ghost thrusts Shae back into the life she was forced to leave behind. As secrets unravel, revealing unexpected truths, Shae sees an opportunity to avenge her father’s death by destroying patriarch Sal Ambrosi, the man responsible for her father’s murder. Getting to the heart of the family will be difficult, but nothing and no one is going to stop her—not even the heirs to the Ambrosi family empire.
She’s prepared for the two brothers, Dante and Rex, to put up a fight, but she isn’t at all prepared for the danger they will bring to her life and her heart.
One will love her.
One will hate her.
One will vow to protect her.
One will vow to kill her.
All in the name of family.

“So, Shae, tell me a little about yourself.”
“Really? You want to talk?”
I chuckle. “You sound surprised.”
“Because I am.”
“What’s wrong with getting to know the woman I’m about to fuck?”
“Are there things about me you’re dying to know?”
You have no fucking idea. “As a matter of fact, there are.”
She studies me for a moment and tips her glass, finishing off what’s left of her wine. She sets it on the counter, strides across the kitchen, and opens the curtains, revealing a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline.
With her back to me, she takes a deep breath and when she exhales she says, “Let’s have it.”
In one gulp, I finish off my wine and set the glass next to hers. I slowly walk across the room, enjoying the view in front of me as I do.
And I’m not talking about the skyline. The dips and valleys of Chicago’s cityscape may be impressive, but they have nothing on Shae’s soft curves.
Her skirt is a little rumpled, her blouse untucked, and her long, dark hair falls in waves around her shoulders. Her body draws mine like a magnet, and when I step into her, pressing my chest against her back, she doesn’t move. There is no gasp of surprise, no stiffening spine, she’s just here in this moment with me.
“Let’s start with your favorite color.”
“Purple.” Her voice is shaky, and when I run my finger down the back of her neck, she tilts her head, allowing room for my lips to graze the silky smooth skin.
“Favorite food.”
“Great choice.” I kiss a path along her shoulder. A shiver runs through her, and I smile against her skin. “Favorite sport.”
“Mine too. Favorite team?”
“C-Cardinals.” I nip at her soft skin, and Shae sucks in a breath. “What was that for?”
“I’m a Cubs fan.”
“That’s okay; I forgive you.”
I nip her again, run my tongue along the side of her neck, and blow lightly. Goosebumps race across the creamy skin.
“You’re so responsive, Shae. I can’t wait to see what else I can get your body to do.”
She takes a shuddery breath, and I can tell by the flutter of her pulse against my lips that my words excite her.
“What did Erin mean when she said you hadn’t been with a man in quite some time?” She doesn’t immediately respond, so I turn her in my arms.
Her cheeks turn the prettiest shade of pink as she looks at the floor. “You caught that, huh?”
“It’s pretty much all I’ve been thinking about.”
She looks up. “Really? Why?”
Fuck if I know. Maybe because I like you and the thought of other men touching you makes me want to strangle someone. But telling her that now probably isn’t the smartest idea, so I just shrug.
“Don’t know. Just curious is all.” Shae still doesn’t answer, and I can feel the air around us growing thick. “How many men have you been with?”
Her eyes grow as wide as saucers. “I don’t see how that’s any of your business.”
“It’s not. But I want it to be.”
Glancing down, she fiddles with the hem of her blouse. “Not many.”
“How many is not many?”
She tries to look away, but I don’t let her, so she opts to fold her arms over her chest. A universal defense mechanism. She thinks she’s shielding herself, but all she’s doing is fluffing her tits, putting all of that smooth, silky skin on full display. “I’m not a virgin, if that’s what you’re wondering.”
“I never questioned whether you’re a virgin.”
“Good, because I’m not,” she says firmly, and then her voice trails off. “I’m just not that experienced.”
“How inexperienced?”
Finally frustrated, she throws her arms out to the side. “Why does it matter?”
Running my hand up the back of her head, I thread my fingers through the silky strands of her hair. Something I’ve wanted to do since the moment I laid eyes on her. Gripping it tight, I tug and her head dips back. She looks up at me, her eyes smoldering, and I wonder what else she’d let me do.
“Because I want to fuck you, and I’m not a gentle man, Shae.”
Sucking her bottom lip between her teeth, she bites gently as I wait for her to respond. Something…anything would be good. Then she looks at my mouth, and what happens next isn’t at all what I’m expecting.
“We should probably kiss first.” She smiles coyly, and I do the only thing I can do.
I kiss her.

I must recommend to read book 1 before reading this one. I did not realize that until I got into the story. Characters from pervious books appear and it confused me but I got through it and was able to make sense. Its kind of like starting a soap opera in the middle of a storyline and you just kind of try following along. So READ book 1!

The premise of the book intrigued me. Loved the undercover aspects and how deep these covers got. The tension throughout the story was high so it kept me reading so I could find out what was happening next. Loved Chief and his interaction with Tatyana and how their attraction just built up and fighting their feelings when trying to do their jobs. This is my first book from this author so I am going back to read book 1 and re-read this one because I think I may like it more than when I read it. Loved the writing though!

If you have come this far in the series then I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Chief (Kings of Guardian Series – Book 7)

by Kris Michaels

Releases:  May 30 2017

Cloaked in the identity of David Xavier, a billionaire player in multiple world
theaters, Mike White Cloud worked to enter the Russian Mafia’s lair, by
stalking a shadowy creature named “The Concierge.” The Russian woman
brokered young innocents into slavery and Mike meant to destroy her and
the organization she worked for. He should have despised her for the
atrocious crimes she facilitated, but too often love and hate are the flip
sides of the same coin, and what Mike felt for Taty was not hate. It didn’t
matter. He’d destroy the Bravata and all its associates—even if it meant
part of his soul sat in prison for the rest of her life.

Driven by heartbreak, Tatyana Petrov joined the elite British M16 unit, and
for eight years, wormed her way into the trust of the Bravata as she
strove to identify the human filth selling those innocents to billionaires like
David Xavier. She’d found it easy to loathe the wealthy men who bought
her “toys”—until David. For reasons that she wouldn’t acknowledge, she
wanted to protect this one man from the retribution rapidly approaching.
Neither knew the other’s true mission but even as mortal adversaries,
they’d each given the other a part of their soul and now only devastation
and sorrow waited.

When I met Donovan Kincaid, I knew he was rich. I didn’t know he was filthy. Truth be told, I was only trying to get his best friend to notice me.
I knew poor scholarship girls like me didn’t stand a chance against guys like Weston King and Donovan Kincaid, but I was in love with his world, their world, of parties and sex and power. I knew what I wanted—I knew who I wanted—until one night, their world tried to bite me back and Donovan saved me. He saved me, and then Weston finally noticed me, and I finally learned what it was to be in their world.
And then what it was like to lose it.
Ten years later, I’ve found my way back. Back to their world. Back to him.

Be still my beating heart-Pepper Winters you really know how to leave me on the edge of my seat. This book was worth the cliffhanger in Crown of Lies because omg did it start out wild. Most authors start the pinnacle of the story line about 70% in the book having it resolved by the end but Winters turned that inside out and started off running with Elle and that snot nosed idiot Greg. Things are not looking good for Elle when Greg takes her away from Penn. Elle still has her doubts about Penn and so she should but not all is what it seems and she should have trusted her instincts! Elle is still smart mouthed determined woman that gets her in trouble often.

The story flows so well from beginning to end and oh what an ending with such a twist! We get to see a little more into Penn’s past before and after he met Elle and oh my heart broke for him because all he wanted was Elle but his insecurities got in the way and another it wasn’t what it seemed moment.

These two books were by far my favorite and left me wanting more to read and see how everyone’s lives carried on. It had me reading in one sitting and I loved it.
